Food Pantry

The Community Food Pantry of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown provides healthy groceries to those in need in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. Founded in 2009 as a community collaboration, it is housed at Christ Church San Marcos. Many of the pantry’s volunteers are members of the parish, and a parish member is always on the board. Suzan Ryan is the current board representative.

The Community Food Pantry purchases and distributes groceries and fresh produce to 1,500 food insecure neighbors—about 520 families.

Distributions are the second Thursday of each month, from 8:15 to 10:30 AM and from 6 to 7:30 PM.

The Pantry has no paid staff. Volunteers order food, bag groceries, participate in distributions, maintain stock, handle registration, communications, fundraising, and finances. The Pantry is financially supported by individuals and grants, including community groups, churches, and synagogues. New volunteers are always welcomed.
