Programs for Children at Christ Church & San Marcos

Christian Formation during 10 A.M. service
(ages and grades in each program are flexible)

Nursery Care

Age one-1st grade: Nursery Care/Stories/Crafts are provided in the undercroft (basement) of the church during the service. Children may remain in this class for the full duration of the service, but parents are welcome to bring their children upstairs for the Eucharist or blessing.

The children in this class enjoy learning about Jesus through storytelling, crafts and play time. It is here where the children develop their first friendships with their church family.

Godly Play

Children in 2nd-5th grade: The class for our Godly Play curriculum is held in the undercroft. Before the service begins, we will meet in the first two pews in the front of the church. The teachers will lead the children downstairs to their class after the first hymn. This class will come upstairs for the Eucharist or blessing each Sunday.

Godly Play is an interactive curriculum that allows children to enter into and experience the stories of the Bible.

Youth Group

6th grade & older. Christian Formation/Youth Group(CF/YG)

The Youth Group works on special projects for Church, community projects and performs as the “First Generation, Christian Formation Players” at church services a few times each year.

During the “ Covid Months” in 2020, the Godly Play class and the Youth Group meet via Zoom for “ kids connect”. Some weeks we play bible word games and memory games. Other weeks, the older children take turns presenting a Godly Play lesson. Our next project is to plan a game night for the teens, also via zoom. A favorite project of the Youth Group Is to orchestrate the production of puppet shows and to participate in our chancel dramas. We are currently working on some ideas to offer the younger children Storytelling and crafts, also via zoom. Like this one...
